Win for Life is the Sisal lottery that pays its top prize as a monthly income instead of one lump sum: €2,500 net every month for 20 years. You pick 10 numbers from 1 to 20 plus one Numerone, and there is a draw every hour from 07:00 to 23:00. Below are the exact rules, the odds per prize tier and what the monthly prize is really worth.

Sisal advertises the prize as “up to €3,000 a month”. That is close to the gross amount: €749,875 spread over 240 months is about €3,124. What lands in your account after the 20% Italian tax is €2,500.
How Win for Life works
The game uses a very small number pool, which is why you win something far more often than in SuperEnalotto. Ten of the twenty numbers are drawn each hour, plus one Numerone.
Why the €2 ticket doubles your chances
If you match 0 numbers, the 10 numbers you did not pick are exactly the 10 that were drawn. The €2 ticket pays out on those mirrored results too, including 0 plus the Numerone for the monthly top prize. That is why every tier becomes twice as likely, for twice the price.
Win for Life prizes and odds
65% of all ticket sales goes to the prize fund. Apart from a fixed €2 for matching 7 (or 3 on a €2 ticket), prizes are pari-mutuel: the amount depends on sales and on how many players win in that draw. The odds below are exact, calculated by our editors for one €1 combination.
| Match (€1 ticket) | Mirror (€2 ticket) | Odds per €1 combination | Prize |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 + Numerone | 0 + Numerone | 1 in 3,695,120 | €2,500 net a month for 20 years |
| 10 | 0 | 1 in 194,480 | Share of the prize fund |
| 9 + Numerone | 1 + Numerone | 1 in 36,951 | Share of the prize fund |
| 9 | 1 | 1 in 1,945 | Share of the prize fund |
| 8 + Numerone | 2 + Numerone | 1 in 1,825 | Share of the prize fund |
| 8 | 2 | 1 in 96 | Share of the prize fund |
| 7 + Numerone | 3 + Numerone | 1 in 257 | Share of the prize fund |
| 7 | 3 | 1 in 13.5 | €2 fixed |
Combined, a €1 combination wins something about once in 11 draws, mostly the €2 prize. A €2 combination wins about once in 5.6 draws. Because there are 17 draws a day, the costs add up quickly; set yourself a limit before you start.
What the monthly prize is really worth
A €2,500 monthly income sounds very different from a one-off jackpot, so it pays to look at the numbers. The amount is fixed in euros and is not adjusted for inflation. After 20 years, the last payment buys noticeably less than the first.
- Shared if there are more winners. If several tickets hit the top prize in the same draw, the monthly amount is split equally between them.
- First payment within weeks, not days. The first instalment follows after the official complaint period has closed.
- You can name a payee. The rules let the winner formally appoint a person to receive the payments. What happens to the remaining instalments if the winner dies is set out in the payment contract, not in the game rules, so ask Sisal before you rely on it.
- Hit 10 and the top prize together? Then you receive both: the first-tier prize is paid in full with your first monthly instalment.

Can you play Win for Life from abroad?
In Italy you play at a Sisal point of sale, on sisal.it or in the Sisal app, which requires an Italian gaming account and tax code. Most international lottery services do not offer Win for Life; they focus on SuperEnalotto. Check whether a service lists the game before you sign up, and see our overview of online options.
Italian tax applies to every winner in the same way: 20% on the part of a prize above €500, deducted before payout. More on that on the Italian lottery tax page.
